Owen and Juanita have had a busy season attending AIAA AVIATION and the BARC showcase to highlight recent work developing the CRM-HLS test geometry (to be used by the AIAA High-lift workshops) and preparing the Kirsten Wind Tunnel at UWAL for testing of this geometry.

Success at AA Showcase!
Congratulations to Marvin Bok (UG ‘24) and Paul Medina (Masters) for their awards at the recent AA end of year showcases. Marvin took home first prize and the people’s choice award for his work designing a hypersonic Ludweig tube. Paul was awarded second place in the graduate competition for his work developing the FLDI diagnostic for upcoming hypersonic testing. Congratulations to you both!

New LDV system!
We have just started commissioning our new three component Laser Dopper Velocimetry (LDV) system from Dantec. Providing all three velocity components at a single point in the flow, we will be using this system to explore in-rotor turbine hydrodynamics and the influences of incoming turbulence on performance.
